La Melodia - also known as MC Melodee and producer & DJ I.N.T.- brings you soulful hiphop with a hint of electric funk, and raw yet hypnotic beats from Dutch grounds. Legendary musician and producer Brian Eno will be joining forces with the legendary Warp Records to release his latest album on November 2nd. Small Craft on a Milk Sea will be available in a Limited Edition Box Set as well as a Collectors Edition Box Set. Both editions include a 180g heavyweight double disc 12" vinyl, a CD pressing which includes 4 extra songs, and a 24-bit WAV album and 320kbps MP3 album delivered digitally on the day of the release. The Collectors Edition Box Set also includes an entirely unique and customised 12" square silkscreen print by Brian Eno. Small Craft on a Milk Sea is a collaboration between Eno, electronic musician Jon Hopkins, and guitarist Leo Abrahams.
We’re a little late bringing the news about this but some peeps may not have caught wind of Diplo’s “Free Gucci” remix album. Gotta respect Diplo for really spreading out and absorbing so many musical cultures (more on that in the next few weeks). It was really hard to find the best track off the album because pretty much 90% of it is So Icey. It was out of both remixes of “Excuse Me”, this track we’re posting, and DZ’s remix of “I Be Everywhere”.
So.. why the title you ask? This is from the Gucci Mane Wiki page:
In April 2001, Davis was arrested on cocaine charges and sentenced to 90 days in jail. On May 10, 2005, Davis was attacked by a group of men at a house in Decatur. Davis’ companions shot at the group, killing at least one. The corpse of one of the attackers, Henry Lee Clark III, was found later behind a nearby middle school. Davis turned himself in to police investigators on May 19, 2005 and was subsequently charged with murder. Davis claimed that the shots fired by his party were in self-defense The DeKalb County district attorney’s office dropped the murder charge in January 2006 due to insufficient evidence. The previous October, in an unrelated matter, Davis had pleaded no contest to a charge of assault for assaulting a nightclub promoter the previous June; at the time the murder charge was dropped, he was serving a six-month prison sentence for this. Davis was released from jail in late January 2006.
In September 2008, Gucci Mane was arrested for parole violation for completing only 25 out of 600 community service hours following his 2005 arrest for assault. He was sentenced to a year in jail but was released after six months. On November 12, 2009, Gucci Mane was sentenced to 12 months in prison for violating probation. He is currently incarcerated in Fulton County jail.

Oh boy, oh boy. Kenneth and I have been passing this idea back and forth and it’s finally come to fruition. Everyone is so damn mix happy these days but more time then not we find gaps and lulls in the music. We feel very confident in the music we label “track of the day” so much so that we’ll hold up mixes made of these tracks with anything else. Thumps chest. All jokes aside. The Apple and the Tooth was released last week and I was excited to see that it included Lone remixes as well as Letherette and Keaver & Brause.
