One bead at a time.
Hands down one of the best online thoughts, experiments, things I've seen in a long, long time. Just sit back and let it play. There's a small plus in the upper right hand corner that allows you to control some of the settings such as CB radio. Great for a late night working. Tres bien.
I've come across two photography experiments in the last week. Both are outstanding and make me green with envy that I didn't think of that. Both strangly enough use side by side portraits for comparison. The first is Irina Werning. She developed a project that goes back in time and compares people now with what they looked like . . . then. For a full breakdown of the experiment go here.
The second experiment deals with symmetry and beauty. In the words of Julian Wolkenstein "There is a myth, some say a science, suggesting people who have more symmetrical faces are considered more “attractive“ If you are made symmetrical, do you consider yourself more beautiful, less so, or is it just weird? Or is it you at all? Do you have a best side? What is to be said of left and right brain dominance?" See that project in full here.
One of a two new songs Cat Power played at her recent show at the Fillmore in San Francisco. You can veiw the others here.
This track is short, sweet and infectious. The minimal repetitious beat compliments the sweet slightly raspy vocals of Jessie Ware as well as those of Sampha. I'm not too sure if these two have a larger project coming out anytime soon but I would be all for Long Play.
The new Destroyer album will make an appearance on my top ten list this year. It's ripe with refreshing confidence and a calming melodies. Dan Bejar's voice has really developed into an instrument all it's own.
